Paul Allen the Lesser vs. Paul Allen the Greater

In the Utah Valley Business Q Summer 2006 edition, Paul Allen mentioned that he will contact Paul Allen the Greater when he reaches #1 in for the search term “Paul Allen” on Google.com. I have done some feasibility research on this matter.

Anchor Text Back Links Because Paul Allen the Greater has a substantial number more incoming links than Paul Allen the Lesser I did a further analysis using my desktop software for the anchor text “Paul Allen and “paulallen”. The results are thus:

Paul Allen the Lesser

• Paul Allen 419 91.5%
• paulallen 3 0.7%

Paul Allen the Greater

• Paul Allen 1296 59.9% of links
• paulallen 530 24.5% of links

Conclusion Paul Allen the Lesser needs:

• Paul Allen 877
• www.paulalle.net 527

Paul Allen the Lesser needs 1404 links just to catch up to the Greater. This does not account for the rate at which either site is acquiring links. In future posts I can and may factor this in.

Paul Allen the Lesser’s website, www.PaulAllen.net, obviously has a realistic opportunity to become the #1 ranked “Paul Allen” site. However, it is my conclusion that he needs a little boost in links with the term “Paul Allen” & “www.paulallen.net” in them.

Thus I have decided to write a few articles concerning Paul Allen lesser and syndicate them. He should get about 50 links from each article over the course of two months. Thus if I wrote one article a month for 29 or so months he would be caught up to where the Greater is today.

Obviously this is not going to help the Lesser at all, but one article a day for 30 days would. However, I am unable to do that at this time and thus I will do my best to do as many as possible in the time that I have. I have committed to do at least 10 articles no matter how long it takes.

Disclaimer Please note this is something I am doing for fun and I have simplified the reasoning of the SEO tactics above. This post is meant as assistance for Paul Allen the Lesser’s personal challenge to meet & ask for investment capital from Paul Allen the Greater.

Please also note that Paul Allen the Lesser has moved his blog within the last 12 months and may be experiencing some lost links at this time. I have not taken this into effect because even I did that wouldn’t mean Google had or will.
